Meet the Flock Roundup - July & August 2018
Is this photograph perhaps art? No, it’s Squawky the Speckled Sussex. I don’t have a chicken named “Art.”
Here's yet another pic of my good-looking Easter Egger, Sam. She's in her sixth year, but still young at heart.
Mary, my pretty five-year-old Campine hen, poses for a shot.
Emile the rooster speaks to the assembled flock and manages to capture the rapt attention of the young, impressionable pullets. Meanwhile the old hens wander away mumbling, "Yada, yada, yada...I've heard that speech sooooo many times before!"
Marissa, Nicky, and Paulette, three of my four Cream Legbars, line up on the roost for bedtime - in their usual and predictable order.
Here are Rosa and Mary out for an afternoon peck and scratch.
Moe: "There's what? Dirt on my beak? Oh, my goodness, how incredibly embarrassing! Why are you telling my only now?"
